Proposed residential development in the village of Riverstick, Co.Cork.

The proposed residential development aims to revive this prominent site in the centre of Riverstick village with high-quality, contemporary housing that compliments the existing vernacular and character of the area.  The scheme comprises a mix of housing types, 4 no. two storey four-bed detached houses, 9 no. three storey three-bed townhouses, and 4 no. apartments (consisting of 2 no. two-bed duplex apartments and 2 no. one-bed apartments). The site is defined by strong boundaries, the river to the west and a steep road curving up along the north and east boundary. These boundaries and the topography of the site called for a well-conceived and sensitive solution. Our goal was to create housing that can enjoy the benefits of this prominent site, including its central location in the village and proximity to the river, while also avoiding any potential negative impact on the site and its surroundings. We also wanted to create a public amenity space that would enhance the village as a whole, and that could be readily enjoyed by the local community.
